PDDCS members meet Evelyn Glennie

Following her performance at the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, PDDCS posted details about Evelyn Glennie playing at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall as part of DaDaFest 2012.

When PDDCS learned that the world renowned percussionist would be playing with the Leicester Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the Orchestra’s 90th anniversary,  a trip was arranged to see her perform. The whole evening was outstanding. Many of the young people and families from Music and the Deaf and PDDCS attended. As they watched the orchestra play the young people could envisage where their musical adventures and experiences might lead them.

Evelyn’s performance was simply extraordinary. She must have been exhausted from all the drumming and bagpipe playing. Nevertheless Evelyn took the time, at the end of the night, to sign autographs for many very satisfied audience members.

It was a superb event. A night to remember. The expression on Daniels’s face says it all, doesn’t it?
