Free CPD Session with Music and the Deaf

As part of the Peterborough Music Hub Singing Strategy we’re offering CPD Seminars and workshops over the next few months. I hope they might be of interest to you and you are most welcome to attend: they are open to all free of charge. The sessions are as follows:

Tuesday 12th April – 4.00pm -5.40pm – Danny Lane Music and the Deaf

Workshop to include initial training around how to introduce singing to deaf children by demonstrating “introductory” activities i.e finding your voice and songs which has been used with success in Early Years settings. Other activities also to help raise awareness of pitch, melody, rhythm and pulse with children who have limited exposure to music.  The session to include deaf awareness and communication tactics for singing teachers who may be working directly with deaf pupils for the first time to open up the debate on which approaches can be used to involve deaf children in singing.
